Debtor taxpayers deepened by over 100 million euros more debts to Taxes.
According to the annual report of the Tax Directorate with this increase, the total unpaid tax liabilities of businesses and individuals reached at the end of last year to ALL 134.9 billion.
The vast majority of this debt increase, with almost 75 million euros has come from only 7 businesses, “debtors” of taxes that have not paid their debts on time.
Among the outstanding liabilities of entities to the state, Value Added Tax bears the main weight with almost ALL 48 billion of the total, followed by Profit Tax, social security of employees and other taxes.
Other debts include non-payment of withholding tax, Personal Income Tax and to a lesser extent liabilities arising from the completion of the income statement, known as DIVA. Together, the outstanding liability for these taxes is estimated at around 53 million euros for the year left behind.
More than half of the debt stock, almost 60% of them belongs to the obligations that businesses or debtor individuals have to the state, while the rest consists of penalties and interest arrears to be repaid by entities.
What can be seen from the data, most of the “debtors” who make up 65% of their total, belong to the category of taxpayers who have passed their activity in passive status.
