“There is an increase in interest in professional education, mainly in the fields of electricity, technology or hospitality and tourism. But the spirit of old traditional crafts passed down from generation to generation is fading. Parents who have their own fairies want to give them the best, what they have not achieved on their own, which for them is higher education. That’s the mentality. This has caused the market to have a shortage in trades such as watchmakers, shoemakers…”said Erion Muça, professional career expert.
Lorenc Tanushi is a young man who wrote the future since childhood. Not very fond of studies, but passionate about cars by taking them apart, unlike most of his classmates he did not continue the university, but chose to work as a mechanic.
“I grew up with my uncle who was a mechanic. I also had the inclination, so I was not in a dilemma about the faculty. This is a profession that does not leave without bread, in demand and quite profitable…”, Tanushi said.
This school year, 18,432 students graduated from vocational secondary education. This interest shown year after year in trades, has also led to a decrease in the number of students in the auditoriums.
In addition to trends, young people are studying the labor market not only domestically, but also internationally.
“The tendency to have a higher school still continues, but not like before. Fields that were previously preferred such as political science, law or teaching are no longer. The attention has turned to the needs of the market, especially after the pandemic, as the demand for the fields of medicine, technology, psychology has increased”, said Erion Muça, professional career expert.
