The mayor of Vig village, Vau i Dejës municipality, has asked for the help of the show Fiks Fare after, according to him, he was fired based on some signatures collected by the villagers.
Pal Gjoka says that on September 1, 2021 he received a decision to dismiss him as mayor of the village of Vig due to a complaint filed by 42 residents of the village who are dissatisfied with his work. But according to the complainant, the decision taken by the mayor does not stand because some of those signatures collected are untrue.
In order to ascertain the signatures collected in the petition, the journalists of Fiks Fare communicated with two of the persons whose names were on the list. Both of these persons, in addition to the fact that they had confused the name with which they have a civil status, have marked them with the nicknames by which they are known in the village. They have been living in Shënkoll for 20 years and they no longer receive any services from the Municipality of Vau i Dejës.
After communicating with the persons who were on the list of names, the journalists addressed the mayor of Vau i Dejës, who in his decision was based on the list of names compiled by the 2 inhabitants of the village of Vig. Mark Babani says that the dismissal of the mayor of Vig village, Mr. Pal Gjoka, was not based at all on the list of names, even though he had made a decision. He says that the competencies as mayor allow this action and so he thought it reasonable.
