Donald Trump again faces criticism for some recent comments on U.S. policy regarding the Jewish lobby.
In a recent interview, Trump initially condemned what he called the “dangerous apathy” of American Jews toward Israel, arguing that once “Israel had absolute power over the US Congress.”
In an interview with Israeli journalist Barack Ravid, Trump said that Jews in America “either do not like Israel or do not want to know it.”
“I have to be honest, there are people in the country who are Jewish but do not love Israel,” Trump said, adding that a moment ago, Israel had “Absolute power over Congress.”
He said further than today “It is quite the opposite” and blamed Barack Obama and Joe Biden for that.
“I tell you that evangelical Christians love Israel more than Jews in the United States,” Trump said, adding that Jews are voting for Obama or Biden, is proof that they do not prefer Israel.
Trump has said before that the New York Times daily e “I hate Israel,” he said. though managed by the Jews, referring to the Sulzberger family, which has owned the network for more than a century.
The former president’s comments quickly came under fire from Jewish groups accusing Trump of “Radioactive antisemitic jokes” as well as for “Creating dangerous stereotypes” or “Provocations with unfounded conclusions about the inseparable ties of American Jews with Israel.”
