An apartment on the second floor of a building in Durres, which was adapted for the cultivation of narcotics was discovered this Wednesday.
It is learned that cannabis was grown by means of light bulbs and electrical appliances used for heating.
The person who rented the apartment and alienated it to carry out this criminal activity is declared wanted.
Following the successive crackdowns on criminal activity in the field of production and trafficking of narcotics, as well as the discovery of premises adapted for the cultivation of cannabis by means of lamps, after a tracing work, based on information obtained on the operational road, for an environment adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants, by the crime investigation structures in DVP Durrës, in cooperation with the Durrës Police Commissariat, was organized and finalized the police operation codenamed “Rent”.
During this operation, in the neighborhood no. 13, Durrës, from the control in the apartment rented by the citizen IA, which was adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants, were found and seized 2 kg of suspected cannabis sativa dried substance, ready for sale, 110 vases in which were cultivated suspected cannabis sativa seedlings, 19 bulbs and other electrical appliances.
At the time of the police intervention, the citizen who had rented this apartment was not found in the apartment. Citizen IA was immediately declared wanted and work continues to locate and apprehend him.
In cooperation with the Prosecution of the Durrës Judicial District, work is underway to identify and apprehend other persons involved in this criminal activity.
The materials will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
