The voting and counting process in the branches of the Democratic Party in Lezha and Mirdita has been completed and the winners are Arben Ndoi in Lezha with 579 votes and Albert Melyshi in Mirdita with 312 votes.
In Lezha candidates were Alen Kola, who received 85 votes, Anton Gjoni who received 116 votes and the winner Arben Ndoi with 579 votes.
On the other hand, the total number of votes in Mirdita was 560, 137 of which were won by Aleksandër Picaku, 103 by Gjon Ndoj and 312 by the winner Albert Melyshi. 8 votes were invalid.
Elections according to the principle of one member, one vote have been held in some of the branches of the Democratic Party in the country, while the process is expected to be completed next week. The election of new mayors is an initiative of the Re-establishment group led by Sali Berisha and opposed by the other group that supports Enkelejd Alibeaj.
The commanding chairman of the Democratic Party, Alibeaj, has stated that in this way, Berisha is deepening the division in the Democratic Party and is not contributing to the unification of the party, as the former prime minister claims.
