Albania will help Kosovo in the energy crisis that is going through these days. This was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama today, saying that he will come to the aid of families in Kosovo so that the two days of the holidays do not lack electricity.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku has communicated the decision taken to supply Kosovo with energy on December 31 and January 1.
Albania will supply Kosovo with 7680 MWh for December 31, 2021 and January 1, 2022 in the form of deposit and without financial effect. This amount will be returned to Albania in the summer season during the period from June to September.
Balluku: Prime Minister Rama has left a special message today regarding the confrontation of the energy crisis in Kosovo on December 31 and January 1. We have engaged all human resources to find a solution and supply Kosovo in these very important days.
In total we will provide 7680 MWh that will be returned in the form of deposit, ie without any financial effect for the Republic of Kosovo seeking to return to Albania during the summer season when hydric conditions become difficult. So this deposit that will be delivered within this month we will ask to be returned to us during the summer season, from June to September.
He was in parliament today for an energy debate. The energy crisis has affected the whole world. In the coming days we will talk more about the subscribers who are connected to the medium voltage network that it forces them to enter the free market but in such difficult conditions, the Albanian government is analyzing and taking appropriate measures for this target group.

A day ago, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti reacted to the energy crisis that the country is experiencing, proposing two solutions to this situation, reducing or increasing the price of energy.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo said that the country should have thought beforehand not to reach this situation, while emphasizing that the factors that influenced this crisis are: Lack of vision for socio-economic development of Kosovo, with planning of the energy sector for the supply of stable and affordable prices and government corruption became the norm, culminating in the privatization of the distribution and supply network for only 26 million euros.
