The European Training Foundation has conducted a research regarding the professionals who are leaving Albania for Germany, emptying the domestic market and filling the European one.
“During 2020, 6000 professionals have left. 2000 are IT employees, ie Information Technology and 4000 are employees from the Health sector, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, health care, etc. Salary is one of the main reasons that there is a departure at these rates of employees in these two areas. If in Albania they receive salaries of 700-800 thousand old lekë, then they can receive a salary that is 3000-4000 euros for the same level of work, for the same tasks, responsibilities and experience.
What should be considered very carefully is the fact that graduates project their future for work and living abroad, from the selection of the branch of study. So they rather choose the branch not on what they want and have a passion to do, but on what would facilitate their employment in a country of the European Union, why not even further than the EU. Those who leave have not only salary as the main reason for leaving, but lack of meritocracy, evaluation and motivation of employees within a company, lack of internal career promotion. There is no stable relationship between work and social life, which of course all together, increase the productivity and results at work of an employee.
And it is this set of problems that makes young people uninterested in seeing the Albanian labor market, as a real opportunity in which they can develop professionally, thus orienting their attention to an EU country or even to America. distant.– said Erion Muça, expert of professionals.
