EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has called for an urgent meeting with the UN Security Council following an attack by Russian forces on Ukraine’s Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. According to him, attacks of this nature warn of “catastrophic” consequences.
“The shelling and fire that results at the power plant (Zaporizhia) could endanger the whole of Europe,” Borrell wrote in a Twitter post on Friday.
Today, the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine said that Russian forces had “occupied” the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
