The European Union has decided to relax the measures for wearing the mask on the plane.

The German Ministry of Health explained when asked by the dpa news agency, that the obligation to keep the mask on the plane is decided by the national authorities. Therefore this rule continues to apply to flights within Germany and to all flights departing or ending in Germany.
Consequently, a medical mask or an FFP2 mask must be worn during take-off and landing from the aircraft as well as throughout the flight. The mask can be removed only during feeding. Children under the age of six are exempt from this obligation. The relief is due to improved pandemic data related to vaccination figures and immunity created by the infection.
