In all the progress reports of the European Commission for Albania, the important role that the opposition plays in the integration processes is emphasized.
Naturally in Brussels the situation in the DP is being pursued with interest.
Ana Pisonero, spokeswoman for the European Commission, when asked by Top Channel journalist Muhamed Veliu about what is happening in the DP, says that the commission does not comment or get involved in the internal affairs of this political force.
On behalf of the European Commission in response to Top Channel, she states:
“We will continue to urge the government and the opposition to ensure and continue to focus on reforms that include, further structuring in the ongoing fight against corruption as well as increasing the time to act through constitutional change of vetting bodies. These are of key importance for the path of European integration”.
Part of the meeting of the six ambassadors the day before with Lulzim Basha at the blue headquarters was also the head of the EU delegation in Tirana, Luigi Soreca.
