Overload due to the pandemic has caused “Burnout” syndrome in doctors.
For two years in a row, family doctors in health centers but also specialist doctors and nursing staff work long hours and beyond human capacity, which has led to their exhaustion both psychologically and physically but also in reducing their professional quality.
This is also confirmed by the Doctor’s Order which requires additional financial evaluation for them.
“Burnout” or burnout syndrome in the workplace is a situation that doctors around the world are facing. But even in conditions of low salaries of doctors in Albania, this makes the situation more alarming.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, many doctors left Albania for Germany and the pandemic not only did not stop but increased the number of fleeing doctors.
The WHO chief has repeatedly stressed in his speeches the risk of depletion of human resources in health systems during this time calling on governments to take supportive measures.
