Kanye West seems to have added the “poet” to his talents as after the previous creation entitled “Divorce”, he has distributed today a new poem with the even more intriguing title “Dead”, in which, among other things, signals that “He does not understand that he is dead.”
Here are some opening verses:
“No one wanted to tell me I was dead. And the only people talking were those in my head.”
“No one wanted to tell me I was dead. The only people who loved me were those in my dreams.”
The poem also refers to his divorce from Kim Kardashian and taking the family home from his ex-wife, about which he writes: “The children danced for me in the house I once ran.”
At the end the poem details how the rapper understands his fate unexpectedly.
“One day I found a newspaper shop in purgatory, and on the front page the news of my murder,” he wrote. “I was very surprised by what was said / This information is for the living / And strangely… you are dead.”
In some comments on the poem, West refuses to explain the meaning, arguing that “explanation breaks the mystery and magic of true love by placing it in a box where it can be counted.”
Even in the song “Devil in a New Dress” the rapper alludes that people should be allowed to express themselves emotionally.
“I feel I have to justify my way of expressing myself even after 20 years of making art and contributing to this planet,” he writes. “But I also feel that we should be allowed to express what men are not allowed to express, or celebrities are not allowed to express.”
West released the new poems after the judge declared them and Kardashian separate.
