The United States Embassy in Ukraine this Monday called on its citizens who are there, if they can, to find a way and leave.
Given the “unpredictable” situation and the ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, the Embassy advised citizens to be vigilant and pay more attention to the roads they will follow.
Earlier, the US State Department announced that it would withdraw some embassy staff and their families from Ukraine.
“The security situation in Ukraine continues to be unpredictable due to the growing threat of Russian military action and could deteriorate at any time“, Said the American embassy in Kiev.
The territory of Ukraine is more than exposed to military operations and consequently the danger is very high at the border crossing points from where Russia has deployed thousands of military troops encircling Ukraine from the north, east and south.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced that since the start of the Russian occupation on February 24, about 368 thousand people have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries.
