Sali Berisha’s accusations, transmitted to a part of the civil society against the American ambassador Yuri Kim, the lawyer Plarent Ndreca describes as “a kick to what we have achieved thanks to the cooperation with our allies”.
Invited to “Top Story”, Ndreca says that ‘victory’ like Kosovo’s independence, we have achieved thanks to cooperation with international allies, especially the strategic partner of the United States of America.
To the criticism that no one should interfere in our constitution, the lawyer responds that “from the moment we became part of international agreements, we have given up ‘this absolute right’.
“It is very populist, that since the Albanian people have voted for a constitution, everything of the constitution must be passed by the people. In 1992, they came to power seeking America, seeking Western values. If you become part of international conventions and agreements like NATO and the Council of Europe, things change”.
We are in a discussion that we should not be today, says Ndreca.
“It has nothing to do with the aspirations of the Albanian people. This is a form of how to kick what we have achieved with our allies”.
A petition against the US Ambassador to Albania Yuri Kim has been spread on social networks.
In the “Enough is enough” initiative, the US State Department is asked to stop the ambassador from interfering in the internal affairs of our country, especially in the domestic politics of the Democratic Party, where Kim is often expressed against Sali Berisha, declared ‘non grata’ by DASH.
