Over 100 hectares of agricultural land planted with fruit trees, mainly strawberries has ended up under water.
In the village of Kafaraj in Fier, where about 500 farmers in the area have lost their production for a whole year. Some of the farmers are emigrants returning to Albania who have invested in agriculture the profits secured in emigration.
Despite the dense inflows of the Vjosa River, which had not been recorded for a long time, the farmers are responsible for this situation by the state authorities, who according to them should have prevented the floods.
Farmers have doubts about the future of their family businesses and are asking the state to help them rebuild.
