A sheriff in Florida, USA was forced to make a painful arrest during an operation to seize local distributors of methamphetamine, as among them was his daughter.
Franklin County Sheriff AJ “Tony” Smith told the network Washington Post that he was shocked when the name of his 38-year-old daughter Kristen Kent turned out to be the drug supplier of one of the detainees.
“How,” I said, “my daughter?” and he replied ‘yes sir,’ “the sheriff told the daily.
So despite the shock, he set a trap to catch his daughter, a mother of three, while distributing a quantity of methamphetamine. And consequently she was arrested last week for trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine.
“I felt very bad about it, but I realized that the amount of drugs he was distributing was not small and had to be stopped. “I did not feel well but it was something that had to be done,” he said.
After his daughter was detained and her photo was taken in custody, the man commented: “Drugs make no difference to you or me, no one is immune or excluded.”
The sheriff further said that he believed that his daughter had previously given up the habit of addiction, after a period of rehabilitation he had performed.
“That’s why it was shocking to me,” he told the Washington Post, adding that his daughter’s troubles made her more determined to stop drug abuse.
