The masks must be kept on the streets of Paris again from Friday because of the omicron variant, which caused an outbreak of COVID-19 infection in France, announced today the Police Department of the French capital.
People over the age of 11 should wear masks, in addition to those in vehicles, cyclists and people involved in sports, the statement said.
Masks will be mandatory in places open to the public in Paris, in addition to the Boulogne and Vincennes forests and at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Bourget and Paris-Orly airports. Access to the terminals of these airports will not be possible for persons accompanying passengers.
“Controls have been intensified since Friday,” the prefecture said. Violators face a fine of 135 euros. It was also announced that the premises will be closed after 02:00 and dancing was prohibited in all facilities open to the public.
