In the last 24 hours in France over 102 thousand new cases of COVID-19 have been registered.
According to data from the Public Health Agency, with 102,144 new cases in the last 24 hours, the number of cases so far has reached 14,274,528 while with 298 deaths the number of victims from COVID-19 reached 127,263.
25,776 people continue to be treated in hospitals, of which 3,913 in intensive care.
Director of Public Health Genevieve Chene stated that it is too early to say that the pandemic is over.
She stressed that the number of cases with COVID-19 continues to increase. According to her, they should continue to be careful and that the number of people being treated in hospitals may increase.
Chene added that it is necessary to wait the next few days to make an assessment regarding the progress of the pandemic.
Meanwhile in Paris the placement of masks in open spaces has become mandatory again. A statement from the Paris Police Department said that within the framework of the government instruction, it has already become mandatory to put masks in the markets in the city, in places where there are more than 10 people and in places where public transport is cut, around schools, universities, places of worship and shopping malls.
The Paris Administrative Court on January 13 overturned the prefecture’s decision making it mandatory to wear the mask outdoors in the capital.
