The Chief Rapporteur for Albania in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CDU / CSU Parliamentary Group in the Bundestag, Peter Beyer has revealed through a post the three-day visit to our country.

Regarding EU membership, Beyer stressed that Albania should not be a victim of Bulgaria’s shameful blockade and should be invited to the next intergovernmental conference.
Regarding the situation in the DP, the reporter stressed that Albania needs a united and strong opposition.
The senior Bundestag official made clear the difficult position that the DP will have in the international arena with Sali Berisha at the helm, giving a very clear message that there are no collaborations with persons declared ‘non grata’.

Albania’s EU membership:
Albania should not be a victim of the shameful blockade of Bulgaria. Albania should now be invited to the next intergovernmental conference as the next concrete step in the EU accession process.
The situation of the Democratic Party, PD:
Albania’s parliamentary democracy needs a united, strong opposition. The personal agendas of individuals should not play a role outside of responsibility for the country. It is clear that any kind of cooperation with a “persona non grata” both nationally and internationally is prohibited from the beginning. This is a common, undisputed position that we strictly represent in unison with our friends in the US.
