The General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi has arrived today at 11:00 in the prosecutor’s office, where he is testifying about the protest of the Democrats, which took place on January 8 at the blue headquarters.
Bardhi is answering questions from the two prosecutors in the case, Elizabeta Imeraj and Elio Mazreku.
At 12:00, the schedule was set for the leader of the Democrats, Lulzim Basha, to respond to the prosecutors, but there is still no confirmation whether he will appear in the prosecutor’s office.
On Saturday, Democrats protested in the DP, in a rally that ended in violence, as several buildings at the headquarters were destroyed. Supporters of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha clashed with supporters of Lulzim Basha. 35 of them were arrested, but after the investigation they were released, while for some of them a ‘compulsion to appear’ was requested.
Yesterday, Berisha again accused Lulzim Basha that for the day of the protest, he had chosen mercenaries to bunker the PD.
“To accept to be surrounded by murderers, traffickers and gangs at a time that is protected by the guard, but even if it is not protected, you from the killer if you stay in politics you can never do it,” said Berisha.
Both in front of the prosecutors and in front of the media, the leader of the Socialists, Edi Rama, who Berisha sees more and more as Basha’s lawyer, did not escape without being shot.
“I call on the law enforcement agencies of the partner countries to investigate the minimum for money laundering because Rama closed the money laundering file in Albania”, said Berisha further.
Berisha insists there was no violence at Saturday’s rally and it was a peaceful protest.
