TV presenter Cathy Hummels, the wife of former German national team captain Mats Hummels, recently said she was “grateful” to be alive after surviving a brutal robbery on a Thai beach.
The 34-year-old, who was married to the world champion in 2015, was attacked after finishing work with the TV show “Reality Stars” that is taking place there.
The model, who has already been separated from the defender of the Borussia Dortmund team, was hit in the head and was forced to give her cell phone to one of the robbers.
Cathy, who is the mother of a child, had been shooting for three weeks in Phuket, when at the last moment she pulled out her mobile phone to take a picture.
But suddenly a man hit him from the rpapa on the head, causing him to fall to the ground.
She told the German daily Picture “I told him take what you want, just let me live.”
The robbers had taken her cell phone and left, as Cathy returned to her hotel room to inform police and relatives.
That same night she had flown to Dubai where she is still recovering from a headache and a crash wound in her groin.
She added: “I’m happy to be alive, that’s all I can think of. If a man comes from behind me I tremble, I tremble greatly. “I mentally believe that I am strong but I will not forget that moment on the beach for the rest of my life.”
The model has introduced me to the German version of the ‘reality show’ Love Island. She told 665,000 followers on Instagram that her opinion was about her son Ludwig.
Police in Thailand confirmed that an assailant had punched a victim from Germany and fled with her mobile phone, in the incident at Phang Nga beach.
Police said they had tried to locate the cell phone but said they could not because “the device was turned off”.
