This morning, Thursday, January 13, 2022, educators and teachers across Iran staged protests.
Rallies and demonstrations by educators and teachers took place despite security measures and the presence of a large number of security forces and plainclothes agents.
As of noon today, reports of protest rallies have been received from 116 cities in 30 provinces of Iran. The planned rallies took place outside the Majlis, the regime’s parliament in Tehran, in front of the governors’ offices in the provincial capitals and in front of the education department in other cities.
By sending plainclothes agents and female members of the state security force (SSF), the regime tried to prevent teachers from holding their meetings and preventing others from joining them.
Ms. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), praised the protesting teachers and educators, adding that Iranian teachers, who stepped up their protests by shouting “Teachers, stand up to eliminate discrimination.” And “Release all imprisoned teachers.” By insisting on their rights, they are teaching the lesson of resistance against oppression and oppressors. Ms. Rajavi underlined that as long as criminal mullahs rule Iran, discrimination, poverty, unemployment, inflation and corruption continue, writes NCRI.
