The immediate suspension of all festive events in public spaces is suggested by members of the expert commission, which met today to discuss the spread of the Omicron mutation.
At the same time, experts suggest using a mask with high protection indoors, but also outdoors, when there is a lot of movement.
In particular, experts recommend the mandatory use of masks everywhere. Indoors, as well as in public transport, as well as in crowded open spaces, the proposal concerns the use of the mask with added protection ΚΝ95 or double mask.
In terms of travel, the commission recommends that in addition to the negative PCR for entry into the country, visitors undergo a rapid test on the second and fourth day upon arrival. The measure aims at the timely detection of any suspected case with the Omicron variant.
Government decisions on the Commission’s proposals will be taken tomorrow.
