A lawyer in Fier has had his license suspended for three months, after breaking the boycott that lawyers have been continuing for three weeks, as a sign of protest against the new judicial map.
The decision for Av. Nexhip Dauti, a member of the Bar Association of Fier, was suspended this Wednesday by the Disciplinary Committee of the Bar Association of Albania, while the decision is expected for 14 other lawyers who have broken the boycott and participated in court hearings. They are expected to be subjected to disciplinary measures for punishment with a fine, suspension of license up to a proposal for revocation of license.
The closure of many courts in the country, with the most affected being the Appellate Courts, which will be consolidated into one, brought about the third decision by the national bar that imposed a mass boycott of the proceedings.
