Visar Duriqi says the violence is related to his profession and work as an investigative journalist.
“I was ambushed in front of the house, I think everything was calculated. The place in front of the house has cameras, they pulled me away, where the camera did not catch. So they had thought well of it. There were three persons, with masks and shoes, tall and large bodies. I pulled out the knife, I do not even know how I reacted, I remember I hit. I even hit the first one well, but no one showed up at the hospital“, Duriqi tells” Albania live “.
To the question whether he believes that the police will uncover the event, the journalist answers: “The police patrol came within 5 minutes, gathered the evidence carefully, as far as I understand I am doing my best. Some of the blood marks have remained on the knife, I believe can be identified“.
Duriqi says this is the first time he has been physically abused, but says he is determined to continue his work. “I am now under police surveillance and I do not feel intimidated. I want to recover and continue working, what happened will not stop me“.
