A 60-year-old man, identified by the initials MH, has been handcuffed by police after being charged with three felonies.
As part of the operation codenamed “Bitcoin”, a search was carried out at the residence of the citizen MH, in Malësi e Madhe.
During the control, near the warehouse of this apartment were found and seized 14 devices of different electronic brands, which are suspected to have been used for the illegal generation of virtual cryptocurrencies, as well as other accessories needed for the development of this activity.
These devices were supplied with illegal electricity connections.
At the end of the investigative actions in this case, the owner of the apartment, citizen MH, 60 years old, resident in Malësi e Madhe, was arrested in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offenses “Computer fraud”, “Theft of electricity”, “Concealment of income” and “Unlicensed commercial activity”.
The police cracked down on this computer fraud activity together with the cooperation with OSHEE, after receiving operational police information that the activity of producing virtual cryptocurrencies was being exercised illegally in Malësi e Madhe.
Investigations continue to identify other perpetrators involved in this criminal activity.
The procedural materials were referred to the Shkodra Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
