The police operation codenamed “Double 3” is finalized, to crack down on the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign nationals, for illegal border crossing.
The operation was carried out by the Himara Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Specialists of the Section for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking in DVP Vlora and the Police Commissariat no. 5, Tirana.
Disobeying the order of the police officers to stop the vehicle with which he was transporting 33 illegal immigrants, the 27-year-old man who also possessed cocaine was handcuffed.
Himara Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the specialists of the Section for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking in DVP Vlora and Police Commissariat no. 5, Tirana, following the work to crack down on the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign nationals, for illegal crossing of the border, against profit, based on the information received on the operational road, have successfully organized and finalized the police operation codenamed “Double 3”, within which the citizen was handcuffed:
– KM, 27 years old, resident in Tirana, for the criminal offense “Assistance for illegal border crossing”.
At the exit of the Himara Bypass, the Police services, after the information provided on the operational road, made a signal to stop the citizen KM, who was driving the van type vehicle. The 27-year-old did not obey the order of the police officers to stop, but left quickly.
Immediately, the Police services were put in pursuit of the vehicle driven by the 27-year-old and identified a few meters further, the van type vehicle, abandoned.
During the control of the vehicle, the Police services found 33 illegal immigrants from the MENA countries, whom this citizen was transporting for profit.
Following the operation, after exchanging information with DVP in the regions and thanks to a well-coordinated police work, after a few hours of abandoning the vehicle, in Lapraka, by the services of Police Station no. 5, Tirana, it became possible to capture citizens KM
Also during his physical control, a suspected amount of cocaine was found and seized as material evidence.
The procedural materials were forwarded to the Prosecution at the Vlora Judicial District Court, for further actions.
