A young opportunist in Britain has been criticized for “insensitivity to current affairs” after convincing his war-torn girlfriend that they would soon die in the Russian attack by broadcasting a fake news story about the “expected Russian nuclear attack” from one moment to the next ”.
Becca Redhead had just flooded the bathroom of her three-year-old son Louie Coldicutt on Saturday when she heard the megaphone announcement outside her house about “nuclear war preparations”.
Footage later recorded by her boyfriend Wayne Coldicutt, 32, of Merseyside, showed Ms Redhead running downstairs to watch a fake emergency broadcast on her TV.
On the screen appeared a broadcast coming from the state network BBC in which citizens were urged to prepare to shelter for 14 days to protect themselves from a rapid nuclear attack.
Convinced that the message was true, Ms. Redhead began shouting at her mother, “Mama is attacking us.”
The monotonous voice on the screen warned that the war would create “radiation sickness, followed by death, so viewers were advised to stay away from doors and windows.”
Redhead yelled at her mother Ann Redhead, 61, “It’s not a joke, Mom.”
But her mother when she turned on the television saw that there was no real emergency.
Redhead then took a photo of her brother Alan Redhead, who was at Goodison Park Stadium in Liverpool watching the Everton vs Manchester City match.
The video was shared by Ms. Redhead and went viral on the network, with all users calling her “indoctrinated by the news of the conflict in Ukraine.”
One of them criticized the girl’s boyfriend who used the conflict to fight jokes with his girlfriend.
After seeing the humorous side of the issue, Redhead admitted that he had panicked and believed that the Russians were coming “to kill everyone.”
User Jamballam said: “I look at the humor side here, but doing something like this at this time is unrealistic.”
While Coldicutt said he had not killed much mind when he found the video on YouTube and decided to use it for humorous rivalry with his girlfriend.
