Balla: There has been an approach of building a process from which a president can emerge as set by the constitution. There have been important consensus in the Albanian parliament, meaning that there is consensus on important issues. Regarding the issue of electing the president, they can and should give Albania a president who is worthy of full institutional integrity. It is true that PS has the numbers and we could have chosen to do the first three rounds in one day. The SP is ready to build with the opposition, so with the official DP, Berisha declared non grata is not part of this commitment. Any involvement of Berisha in the process excludes any of our agreements with the DP.
Bollino: Do you agree with the points proposed by the DP?
Balla: This is the draft of the opposition. It would be nice if I could get it officially commented. Anyone born after 1991 is not elected president because he has not turned 40 years old. For me it is very important to maintain the integrity of the process. Tomorrow I will have Alibeaj in the conference, my appeal is that no party has the right to be imposed. Those principles must be seen, I have invited the opposition to hold talks in this way. We want a president of all Albanians. He cannot be a member of the SP parliamentary group, even though he deserves to be, since he only elected Mejdan once in September 1997.
