Sokol Cikalleshi entered the field in the second half of the friendly against Georgia. The Kavaja striker had a good chance to unlock the challenge that ended in a goalless draw.
The 31-year-old touched on several topics in his statement for Supersport, where among other things he said:
“Today was a match I think we should have won, but we saw a Georgia that was lined up well back, they were also technically good. This influenced us not to put them under pressure all the time.
We had the opportunity to win the match, Vrioni and Çekiçi and I had chances. We should have scored a goal. We still have a little way ahead to get where we want.
When playing against Spain the primary thing is defense, while with teams that are somewhat at our level, we should try something more, but we also need guarantees afterwards. We showed it today, we were solid in defense. Let’s try to improve what we have by June.
Could I serve the case I missed? Professor Shpëtim Duro is one of my favorites, he opened the door for me for the first time at Besa. It was the beginning of my career, he is a person with values whom I respect.
I watched the video afterwards, I could follow, but I was very confident that I would score and I sent the ball where I wanted. I must also be honest, at that moment I was very focused on scoring, but I was wrong not to follow. I should have followed“, Stressed the national team striker.
