Ukraine is preparing for a major Russian operation in the east of the country, now that Russian troops have withdrawn from areas around the capital, Kiev.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said the battle for the Donbas region would resemble World War II. Kuleba has urged NATO countries to offer more weapons to fight the Russians.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said the alliance was ready to increase support, although he did not provide details on what weapons were involved.
