Singer Soni Malaj is the next guest on “A live night”, directed by Ledion Liço.
How rarely did she recount some of the moments of her childhood where she dreamed of becoming a singer, even though her parents wanted her to become a doctor.
“I do not know when I did not sing, I try to remember a moment that I did not sing, but there is not, I started when I was 5 years old. My biggest dream was to become an artist, a singer, to leave a mark on Albanian music. I did not know who I was going for, I said I would follow my dream and point. I was born in Tropoja and lived until I was 9 years old. “It was a beautiful childhood, and the world would envy it, like Switzerland, with snowmobile skiing and snow games, and when the first snow started, we would get up in the morning and open windows.”said Soni.
She also described the moment she left her hometown, Tropoja.
“Separation from Tropoja in ’91 was very difficult, I suffered a lot, it seemed to me that I did not belong to Tirana. I am characterized by perseverance, I had not heard of the edition, I just wanted to become a singer. Students went to school and did homework, I prepared myself that in my teens I would go to the festival. Until the age of 14 I trained myself vocally. One day my mom told me that a brother of her acquaintance had a studio. Who has it, who has it? I asked my mother, ‘he is this lady’s brother, you do not know how to sing’.
