The head of European diplomacy, Joseph Borrell, spoke about the integration of the Western Balkans, referring to Albania and North Macedonia.
In an interview with the Montenegrin media Vijesti, Borrell emphasized that even though the EU Summit did not bring results for the integration of Albania and North Macedonia, the EU has been, is and will continue to be committed to improving the process of membership of the Western Balkans in the big EU family.
The head of European diplomacy stated that the EU will continue its strong political, technical and financial support to the six countries of the Western Balkans to help them advance the key political, institutional, social and economic reforms that are necessary for progress on the road to the EU.
“Progress in reform priorities should lead to the closer integration of the Western Balkans with the European Union, the work for accelerated integration and the “gradual introduction” to individual policies, programs and the EU market”, says Borrel for Vijesti.
