Albanian boxer Florian Marku will face tonight with Welshman Chris Jenkins to defend the IBF International Welterweight title, in a challenge that will be broadcast live on the screen of SuperSport 1, starting at 20:00.
The 29-year-old Albanian athlete started his career as a kickboxer and then switched to mixed martial arts (MMA), while from December 1, 2018, he started his career as a professional boxer, winning against the Serb Nikola Janicievic in Germany.
All this journey of Mark is quite interesting, as it is usually the boxers who pass in MMA, while the Albanian did the opposite way, managing to fit quite well.
Since then, Mark has counted 11 matches as a professional boxer (he has 12 of them tonight), of which he has won 10 and has drawn only one against the Briton Jamie Stewart, in a challenge where he strongly contested the referees’ result.
It is worth mentioning that Florian Marku has achieved 6 out of 10 victories as a professional boxer, he has been knocked out, while the other 4 have been decided by a panel of judges.
Tonight’s challenge will be held at Newcastle’s “Vertu Motors Arena” and will come exclusively on the SuperSport screen./Super Sport
