Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said $ 6.5 billion (5. 5.2 billion) had been raised for Ukraine at an international donors’ conference in Warsaw, hosted by Poland and Sweden.
The money is promised by countries around the world, as well as by businesses and banks. Among the donors was Prime Minister Edi Rama, who promised that Albania would help with 1 million euros for Ukraine.
Morawiecki said Ukraine needs 12,000 tons of humanitarian aid every day, but currently international efforts are providing only 3,000 tons.
Addressing the conference via video link, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted three elements of support:
1. Financial resources to support the humanitarian needs of Ukrainian citizens as the war continues
2.Prepare a large-scale reconstruction plan that would be similar to the Marshall Plan after World War II
3. Immediate EU candidacy status for Ukraine
Ukraine has received over $ 12 billion in weapons and financial assistance since the start of the Russian occupation on February 24, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told a news conference.
