The phenomenon of botox injections, fillers or aesthetic interventions on the face to look more beautiful or correct any age wrinkles has opened massively in Albania. Prices range from 120 euros for a botox to 950 euros.
To have an age in hand and to make such injections you have to be a doctor, to have studied, to know the human anatomy. But today this profession is practiced by hairdressers or beauticians who have completed a course of several months for aesthetics.
It is enough to ask on instagram, botox and filler to appear endlessly clinics, aesthetic centers and even hairdressers which compete with the prices for such injections and present themselves as if these services are offered by doctors specialized in dermatology and with several years of experience.
In these conditions, Fiks Fare started the investigation in several clinics in Tirana and Fier.
The journalists first turned to the Cinderella Aesthetics aesthetic center where the injections are performed by Marjeta Demirlika, the so-called Dr. Life. She looks at the journalist and explains to her what I should do on her face for correction. In the conversation above, Ms. Demirlika shows that she has only been working in this clinic for 3 months, while she is also engaged in another clinic. To the question of the journalist of Fiks, who in this case is the patient, where Mrs. Demirlika has completed her studies and responds in France and Switzerland. Even its frequent absence was related to this as there were collaborations in these countries with other clinics. Madje Mrs. Demirlika says that this job is open like rain after mushrooms and that anyone can inject botox “so much so that they are lowering our reputation as a doctor” she says.
At the Dermo Aesthetics Gina clinic, the Fiks journalist was consulted by Mrs. Albina Muhameti, who introduced herself as an aesthetic doctor. the price he gave for botox was 120 euros, while for filler 150 euros naso-labial area.
Fiks journalists extended their investigation to the districts, addressing the city of Fier. At Elite Medical Aesthetic, facial injections are performed by Gentiana Hykaj, who explains that she graduated in pharmacy, but has completed two years of specialization in Aesthetic Medicine.
Fiksin journalists turn to another beauty center in Fier, Nertila Beauty Style. In this clinic, Botox injections and fillers were given by Rexhina Boçi. Fiks reporters ask in this salon and tell that dr. Boçi is a graduate doctor, she has her clinic in Lushnje and every Monday she presented herself in this salon to perform various injections on the face according to the requirements.
But botox is not only performed in these aesthetic centers, but also in neighborhood hairdressers. The journalist turned to one of these hairdressers called Aesthetic Hairdresser Zana. In this hairdressing salon the injections were performed by the so-called dr. Arta Sinaj, who from the conversation she had with the journalist, came out that she worked as a nurse at QSUT, but that she was conducting trainings and at the same time doing injections. “To be clear,” she told the Fiks journalist, “I have a license from the Ministry of Health.” Arta performed the process in the area that was dedicated to waxing inside the hairdressing salon, she did not even have gloves with her, except for the tools she kept in the trunk of the car.
In these conditions, Fiks FAre addressed the three institutions for the above mentioned persons who were introduced as doctors.
In the interview given for Fiks deputy. Dritan Trepça – vice. president of the National Council of UMSH said that all the names referred to by the show Fiks Fare, none of them is a doctor. He said that interference from such persons is high risk and that the competent authorities should act as soon as possible in taking measures. “We are responsible only for doctors,” says Mr. Trepça. Meanwhile, when asked by Fiks if they are dentists and whether they can perform such interventions, the deputy. the president of UMSH said that he did not know whether or not they are dentists, but for such interventions special specialization is needed. He concludes by saying that patients from such interventions may be at risk for cancerous diseases.
Fiksi also addressed the dermatologist Erjona Shehu, who said that the skin is an organ, so everyone should take care of it like any other organ in his body. Not every type of doctor can perform these types of procedures. It is the doctors who have the relevant certifications and trainings, starting from the specialization diploma they receive at the Faculty of Medicine, both in Albania and abroad. Then there is the Doctor’s Order that gives the licensing of the professional and through these 2 stages the professional is able to perform these types of interventions. “The heart cannot be cured by a hairdresser, the stomach cannot be cured by a make-up artist. No organ of our body can be treated, including the skin of people who are not licensed in the Faculty of Medicine, unlicensed by the Doctor’s Order “concludes dr. Erjona Shehu.
Fiksi requested information about the same list of names from the State Health Inspectorate, who, after being informed by Fiksi, went to the field for verification.
From the verification it was concluded that two of these subjects had not submitted the hygienic documentation and for this they would be fined. Another entity had unlicensed cosmetic products and the activity was suspended, while one of them did not open the door to the inspectors. had such. Apparently the sophistication of these subjects is so great that they hide everything as soon as the state appears at the door!
