Rovena was diagnosed with the disease in October 2019 and decided to be treated in Bergamo, Italy, just a few months before the pandemic was declared.

Isolated in Italy, away from her husband and other family members, she continued chemotherapy sessions despite the aggravated condition of hospitals with patients infected with covid.
“I became strong and I knew I would get through it. God does not give you more challenges than you can handle “, she said at one point.
