Iran National Coronavirus Control Board (COVID-19) announced that new measures have been taken due to the increase in cases of COVID-19 in recent days.
According to the Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA), Board spokesman Abbas Shirujen said that as part of the new measures, indoor meetings and ceremonies are limited to 90 minutes.
“The rule has entered into force that a maximum of 30 people in corporate meetings and 20 percent of the space in religious and cultural meetings,” said Shirujen.
Saying that civilian flights will be operated at a capacity of 60 per cent, Shirujen said that for those entering Itikaf through mosques at least 3 doses of the vaccine are required.
The Iranian official said the new measures are planned to last two weeks. He also stressed the importance of respecting the demand for masks in closed areas in the fight against COVID-19.
Iranian Health Minister Bahram Aynullahi, in his statement on January 27, stated that the 6th wave of the pandemic entered the country with the increase of cases with COVID-19.
According to the data of the Ministry of Health, so far in the country from COVID-19 132,934 people have lost their lives while the total number of cases has reached 6,619,085./AA/
