At the press conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama promised that with the new initiative, all Albanians will give their opinion on the issue of “Open Balkan”.
But when asked if it is too late for this as some agreements will be implemented in January, Rama said it is never too late to get people’s opinion.
Question: Isn’t it too late to ask the Albanians about “Open Balkan” since some of the agreements start to be implemented in January and do not you think that you should have asked the Albanians first and then lobbied for it to be recognized by the EU, USA, even by asking the Albanian opposition.
Rama: It is never too late to ask people. If we had this instrument before, we would probably have put it to use earlier. I stand by all of them but we need to listen to everyone’s opinion without addressing us as the SP or the lock. We need to use this energy source for our decisions, others can say whatever they want, I have it for the representatives who deal with locks and forks. These are not elections and it is not a classic referendum. We want to take this energy source and make it available to everyone.
