Israel announced on Friday that it has begun evacuating relatives of embassy staff in Kiev.
The evacuation was said to be taking place because of the “deteriorating situation”, which appears to be a reference to the crisis between Ukraine and Russia.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry also called on the Israelis to avoid traveling to Ukraine, while the citizens who are in this country, “to avoid the tension zones”, reports REL.
Israel’s announcement comes at a time when the United States has called on US citizens in Ukraine to leave the country immediately, following growing threats of Russian military action.
Russia has deployed over 100,000 troops along the border with Ukraine. The West says Moscow may be preparing for a possible invasion of Ukraine, but the Russian side denies having such plans.
