Over 300 kilograms of heroin were seized in an operation in Istanbul and one person was arrested.
According to the Anadolu Agency (AA), anti-narcotics teams stopped a truck in the eastern district of Istanbul, Tuzla, according to some sources seeking to remain anonymous due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
Sniffer dogs found about 308 kilograms of heroin in 600 bags, according to sources. The value of the seized narcotics is estimated to be around 47 million lira (over $ 6.3 million).
The driver of the truck, identified only by the initials LH, was taken into custody on drug trafficking charges, sources said.
