It is the only country that taxes oil over 1 euro and has one of the highest prices in Europe.
Certainly Albania is not an island. In terms of energy and its production, Albania is the country that should feel less than any other country the impact on the energy of the continent of Russian aggression on Ukraine. Its energy to the extent of 96-98% is entirely water, it is produced at a lower cost than in any country. The irresponsible attitude of this government is that in 9 years it has not provided a single source of energy except water resources, when its potentials were extraordinary. This government inherited about 170 contracts for the construction of HPPs. I am not saying not to pursue the further use of water resources, but the priority should be the diversification of energy resources.
A country that for 9 years has not accomplished anything but statcraft panels. Has listed a list of voltaic parks, but work has not started on any of them. Has excluded companies that had any potential to fulfill the contract. “Albania has one of the most powerful wind platforms in Europe.” said Berisha.
