Wreaths were laid today in the waters near the Italian island of Giglio where 10 years ago the luxury cruise Costa Concordia sank, where 32 people lost their lives.
The ship’s captain, Francesco Schettino, is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence as the main culprit.
The Costa Concordia got stuck in the shallowness of the island and then capsized in the icy waters of the island when most of its lifeboats were unusable.
Passenger Umberto Trotti managed to put in a lifeboat his wife Fjorda and two children, but himself was left behind.
