Boris Johnson calls on Vladimir Putin to pull out of the abyss, calling the situation very dangerous if Russia plans to invade Ukraine in the next 48 hours.
“The situation is very dangerous and difficult, we are on the brink of collapse, but there is still time for President Putin to step down,” Boris Johnson told British television.
“We call on all parties to dialogue (…) to avoid what would be a catastrophic mistake,” he added. While Kiev has accused Washington and London of alarming about the dangers of imminent Russian intervention, Boris Johnson claims that “the evidence is very clear.”
“There are about 130,000 soldiers gathered on the Ukrainian border and all sorts of other signs indicating serious preparations for an invasion. “The signs show, as President Biden said, that at least they are planning something that could happen in the next 48 hours.”
Two weeks ago, Johnson visited Kiev to support Ukraine, to which London recently handed over deadly weapons and anti-tank missiles for the first time.
