Britain will send military experts to Bosnia and Herzegovina to counter Russian influence and “to strengthen the NATO mission, and to promote stability and security,” the British government said Thursday.
“We can not allow the Western Balkans to become another playground for the destructive aims of [presidentit rus, Vladimir] “Putin,” said a statement from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
“By fanning the flames of secessionism and sectarianism, Russia is trying to reverse the successes of the last three decades in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he added.

“We are responding to the call of our friends to help preserve peace,” he said.
According to the announcement of the British Government, two experts in the fight against disinformation and defense reform, will work with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and NATO, to maintain peace and security in this country.
Britain will also provide funding to increase cyber security there.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently facing the greatest existential threat since the war and secessionist leaders are actively working to create further divisions and conflicts. “These plans are supported by Moscow,” the British government said in a statement.
The West’s concerns about Bosnia and Herzegovina have grown since Russia launched its occupation of Ukraine on February 24.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss arrived in Sarajevo on May 26, where she promised that her country would help train the Bosnian army.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, since the end of the war in 1995, has been divided along ethnic lines: with the Muslim-Croat Federation on one side and the Serb-majority Republika Srpska on the other.
Serb leader Milorad Dodik, who is also a member of Bosnia’s tripartite presidency, has been stepping up efforts to separate Republika Srpska from the rest of the territory for several months.
