Li Jingwei was only four years old when he was abducted by a neighbor in the Chinese province of Yunnan and trafficked about 1,000 miles away.
He miraculously reunited with his mother 33 years later.
To achieve this only with his memory the man gradually created the exact map of the village from which he had been kidnapped and the road carried out while leaving.
Consequently he was sold to a family that raised him as hers, but the boy never forgot the abduction and the birth family.
As he grew older he tried to remember, and with pencil created the map of displacement, keeping notes so as not to forget.
Last month 37-year-old Li, 37, posted his drawings online and begged the public to help him get home.
Lee reportedly then showed the map to his mother, where he had drawn bamboo groves and rice fields.
After meeting with his biological family, Lee said he was motivated to launch his initiative by other recently, kidnapped children unions.
Abduction and trafficking of young children in China has been an old problem.
This came from previous restrictions on couples giving birth as well as traditional preferences for baby boys, which fueled the black market of babies and children.
It was not clear whether the family that raised Lee would be prosecuted nor the identity of his abductor 33 years ago.
