Dozens of citizens marched in the squares of Pristina, in protest of the proposal to increase electricity tariffs.
According to them, the options offered by the Government of Kosovo to get out of the energy crisis impoverish the citizen.
“ERO’s latest proposal for a block tariff will further impoverish each and every one of us“, Said one of the organizers of the protest, Anita Mjeku.
The protesters also had some demands for the chief executive.
“The government should not approve the block tariff proposed by ERO. Two, to nationalize KEDS, this as the most sustainable solution for electricity supply of all of us“, Said Anita Mjeku.
Protesters also criticized Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who according to them approves proposals that are harmful to citizens.
“Since this Government came, they have been growing. “But there is no salary increase and you did not cry without protesting.”says a citizen.
“We are protesting because of the increase of electricity and also because of our prime minister who wants to lay us down“, Says another.
The proposal of the Energy Regulatory Office is in consultation until January 28. Against this proposal will be protested again on Saturday.
