The minimum wage in Kosovo, which is currently 170 euros, is being increased.
The Ministry of Finance has drafted a law that enables this, but it is not yet public.
At the same time, unions in the country are demanding a minimum wage of 350 euros.
“We as BSPK, have requested that the minimum wage start and be negotiated from the amount of 350 onwards“, Says Atdhe Hykolli.
According to Hykoll any other lower amount will be opposed.
Unlike the BSPK, the private sector workers’ union demands a higher minimum wage.
“In the circumstances we are in, it is a request that we have made and that has probably passed the time, since we some time ago requested that this salary be 400 euros“, Says Jusuf Azemi.
The institutions in the country have not yet come up with a proposal for the level of the minimum wage, while the promise of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the value was 250 euros.
With this increase, according to the laws in force, the pensions of over 36 thousand veterans increase.
