The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca was at a collection point and agricultural pharmacy in Maminas, to monitor the transparency of large inputs traders on the profit margin for fertilizer products for farmers.
She warned that there would be flash visits in order to be transparent.
Krifca: Today we have primary importance to create great transparency for the prices of products that are vital for farmers. We will have the opportunity with our structures to control. What we are trying to control is that the products from the import to the end point do not have inflated margins, which can not justify the situation we are going through with the farmers.
There are 2 key moments we are going through now with farmers which is part of the basic fertilizer for corn and wheat and we urge farmers not to hesitate to fertilize.
Dealer: Prices have been lowered by big traders. If prices have risen, we will notify you immediately.
Krifca: And we will make flash visits, so let the members of the association know.
Dealer: Traders have made the price reduction. The decline has started over the past week.
Krifca: What matters is to create transparency. We are in the moment to produce.
Dealer: There is material, found in warehouses. There is no lack and there will not be.
Krifca: It is important to make sense that there has been a lot of speculation about input traders and there has been a lot of noise, so the farmer needs to create a sense and knowledge of where the transfer is coming from. Transparency must be increased so that growth does not come from the abuse of traders. What if the seeds had a price increase?
Dealer: Jo.
Krifca: I mean the issue is just about basic fertilizer for corn.
